Defending Nickolay

Today, I have no choice without defending Nickolay. Because this is a fight. This is the world of scientists and engineers. Well, now see how I defend.

Nickolay said:(3+3+3+3)/4=3, then (3/4)*100%= 75%, it means then more you did than less mark you got - I agree(3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3)/8=3, so (3/8)(# of assignments)*100%=37.5%
>>> "(3/8)(# of assignments)*100%"
How did you think about that? Can you divide a grade by # of assignments? You always have to divide with similar things. In fact, my formula was

obtained gr = (avg gr/ total gr, 4)*100%

So, for all Bs = (3/4)*100% = 75% it always comes, doesn't matter how many assignments you are taking. Nickolay had more similar faults.

Nickolay said: same will be with C=2 or A=4, but(3+3+3)/3=3, then (3/3) (average /by # of assig. (>>>same error, how can you divide a marks by a number of assignments for percentige?))*100%=100% this means A, logically A is = to C, but it is wrong logic.
>>>Grades can always be divided by grades. Think, we all LEAP students (in total, 25) have 100 million dollar. Among them you alone have 25 million. What percentige of money have you obtained?

According to you,
% of money = (25 million/# of stds, 25)*100%
= 100 million % (it's impossible)

According to me,
% of money = (25 m/ 100 m)*100%
= 25% (it is possible)

Or if you did one essay and got C then you will get an A+++++++ 'cuz one essay with C=2 by the same theory will lead to (2)/1 =2, then 2/1(sorry, it sould be (2/4))*100%=200%(50%).Let Y be a final mark in % and X is a current mark so your calculation looks like Y=(Xn/n)*100% if X1=X2=...Xn as an example you've gave. It is just a general formula for each case of # of essays,

You want a general formula, OK,
current marks X1,X2,... Xn and the avg is Xavg
So total marks, Y=(Xavg/4(not n)*100%

I don't have time to figure out a specific example but it enough prove my point.Just be careful when you are dealing with math, Honestly I don't really like math but have to deal with it some times.

I appreciate you for defending. I like that you said different things. Later, I will publish such blogs (if I find) and everybody along with Nickolay is invited to my blogs. Thanks Nickolay and everybody.

Dreams

Hi, the final exam was over. Today, I am passing a great day (I think everybody is doing so unless they have taken a credit course).

I can't say how I am feeling, it's more than words. I am feeling relaxed, no assignments, no essays, no reading or no quiz. Woooooooooooooooow!!!! awesome, awesome, super awesome. What else can I say? I can't think about anything.

Last night I slept well. I slept more than 10 hours. That's why I am feeling sound. However, I haven't dreamt. I don't know why I ain't dreaming for a long time, or I can't remember dreams after sleep. In fact, I haven't forgotten dreaming. I don't how everybody thinks about dreams.

I am going to describe some dreams that I never can forget in my entire life.

First Dream:

Once I was dreaming in the midnight. I dreamt my results came out. I got 3.00 out of 5.00. So that's terrible. (the average better grades in my country is 4.30 or higher, they can think of admitting at almost any university. There are some exceptions too. Like, for BUET, Medical, they need approximately 4.7 or 4.8). Well, after that, I think none should dream. It turns their days bad until the result is disclosed.

Obviously, I haven't done so bad, little lower than what I expected. The speciality of the dream is my mother had the same dreams too in the same night.

Another dream:

This dream was kind of like scary. I was feared by somebody. That's probably a nightmare. Ooooh! so awful. I was running in the dark. I couldn't see anything. There were nothing to hide.... then, probably at 3:00 am, I woke up.

In my culture, they said if you see something scary in your dreams, it would give you a message that you have something coming: you might be sick, you might have terrible loss in business, you might lose your job. Well, I got a terrible sick after 2 days of seeing the dream. I was in the bed for more than 2 weeks, then it took for another 2 weeks to recover. That time I could not memorise anything I studied. I felt tired after 5-10 minutes of studying.

Do I have good dreams??? Probably not.
So, from my point, there's no point to be feared from dreams. If there is any danger, then just let it go.

The Last Blog for Winter

Now It is 11:30 pm. After 30 minutes, it will be 12:00 pm and nobody will be able to blog that will be count as a blogs. Well, today I am going to talk about the last day as well as other day of classes.

Today is the last day of LEAP 4 classes. I am also optimistic about everybody passing the LEAP, if there is no major disaster.

We had the question day. We asked so many questions that make Scott a little beat freak out. Actually, we were passing the last day. That's why we were all worried about the exams.

I can forget my friends of LEAP. I get a lot of help from everybody. We have a lot of fun. Sometimes, we have discussion about our study topics. By the way, sometimes I don't know about everybody, but for myself, if I did any mistakes, please don't keep it in mind. Because if you group, it is natural to have some misunderstanding.

I cannot forget my instructors. They are really awesome. I never meet such friendly instructors in my life. They really helped me a lot. Pam helped me a lot in improving my speaking.

Now, it is time for everybody to spread out in the university. Everybody will in different faculty. It will be also hard to keep communication because we will have a lot of work as well as assignments. Then, it will be hard to e-mail. (Please, try to do that).

For communicating, I think the best way is to keep blogging and to put comments on everybody.

Life of CUET Vs the UofC

Today, I don't know what I should write about. I did not find any interesting topic to write about. I'm think I can memorise something. I am wandering if I write about my previous university because that's a real impact on me. I still could not forget about it. I don't know why I am not so excieted about the UofC. Probably, there lies a big difference in admission between two universities. Like you saw the movie, Koreans were really enjoying after getting admission. (I think you all did not see the movie, most you did)

This is the logo of my previous university.

The Website: www.cuet.ac.bd

Anyways, I am going to talk about how difference my life was.

In CUET:

After starting class I did not have so much class works. Also, I got the immigration visa; therefore, I did not study too hard.

My class generally start 8:00 am, sometimes 11:00 am. Well my class finished by 2:00 pm.

I lived in a dorm. The name of it is Sheikh Tarek Huda Hall.

The pic of it:

The building was very old - almost 30-40 years. But, the room is clear because it is a concern of the stuents. I generally, after the class, I took some rest. Then, at 4:00 pm, I used to go to playground either to play or to enjoy the matches. After that, I generally pass my time with gossiping. That continues upto 7:00 am. (Actually, in Bangladesh the evening comes at 6-7 'o clock, not vary like Calgary).

Finally, I ate my dinner at 8:00 am. That's funny!! No study still now.

After that, I might study. That depends on me. Sometimes, I pass all my nights without studying.

(Well, don't think it as a the University of Phoenix.

Had I studied seriously for the university, I would not have passed that life becaue I knew that I gonna change my university. )

Now, in the UofC:

Woooooooooooooow!! so much assignment. It does not matter whether the instructors are giving the assignements for the following days or just keep going. That's because we have tons of work from the beginning of the day with the schedule sheets. Actually, that's the real university life.

Well, I don't have to mention about that.

Now, I came to the university and then go home. After the night passes, again come to the university, again go home. Kind of jail.
Well, I am proud of the UofC because of its teaching standard. I really like the way they teach. Everything is friendly, it is easy to interact with instructors. Friends are really good.

As a whole, both university brings different kind of pleasures to me in different aspects.
Don't think the CUET is bad, it is the second best university in Bangladesh. So competition is quite high at least due to the large population. That's why it was easy for me to get admission to the UofC comparing the CUET.

Math is Crazy

Today, I'm gonna say about the crazy mathe. Also, give you a problem to solve. Mathematics are really crazy, it's so crazy that you never can imagine. Sometimes, it is so awesome that you don't know, sometimes it makes you freak out by providing tons tons of laws and rules.

1*1=1
11*11=121
111*111=12321
1111*1111=1234321
11111*11111=123454321

Another amzing things of mathematics:

1*9+2=11
12*9+3=111
123*9+4=1111
1234*9+5=11111
12345*9+6=111111

You know that the computers are running by doing millions of millions of mathematics in a tiny second. Do you know that how many things computer know actually?
Actually, computers know mainly two things: 0 (zero) and 1.
These are the only two things all computers know, and they are doing an awesome jobs by using those.

Now, I'm giving you the problem. You have to defend with your logics. The problem is:

Remember that: "Forget about percentages when it comes to the LEAP grades. Think about letters and think about what they mean in the great wide world."
(To clarify, you should think about the grades that weigh.)

The statements are:
1. If you always get Cs in all the works in the LEAP, you will get F finally.
2. If you get Bs, you will get C in total.

Prove: Well, You know very well that

A=4 (the highest), B = 3, C = 2, and F = 0 (the lowest).

Lets take three assignments that you have already completed, and you also have the grades. The grades are like that:
In the 1st assignment, you obtained C (=2)
In the 2nd assignment, you also obtained C (=2)
In the 3rd assignmenet, you obtained C (=2) as well

Therefore, the total points you obtained = 2+2+2=6
So, the average = 6/3 = 2 (the average means the value which you obtained in every assignments)
As a result, the total percentige = (2/4)*100% = 50% (by calculating)

That means the total grade should be F. There should be no doubt.

If you go through with B, then see what happen:
In all 4 assignments you obtained B (=3)s
Therefore, the average in this case = (3+3+3+3)/4 =3
so, your acheved percentige = (3/4)*100% = 75%
That means your achieved grade is C.
[Proved]
I think you have already freaked out, and thinking what you should do.

Or thinking that there is something wrong. It's your work what is the fault. Then, show a way that is perfect.

Actually, a lot of people think that math does not blander, human being does.
This is a real example what a man does and the mathe can do. Actually, mathe is like a parrot. Mathe always talks as it is learnt by the programmers. So, mathe does blander if it is not perfected from the basic point.

Catch 22

Last Sunday, I was in the catch 22. At one side I had a nice time; on the other hand, I did not want that nice time because you know we had a lot of things to do: essay assignment for chapter 10, grammar quiz, and then the reading quiz. Oh! so crazy. I don't know how many people got crazy like me. I think nobody would go crazy unless he or she was not aware of the lessons before. I had another task which was I had to return some books that borrowed from the Doucette Library because that day was due for those day. Actually, they were due last Saturday, but I am so lazy that I don't care whatever happens. I just returned those books the day after they were due. So, at first I had a lot of things to do, but I lost 3 hours in returning the works. Then, after coming from the university, I became too tired to do the assignments. Therefore, I decided to take rest instead of starting my study. Finally, I started studying in the evening. However, some guests had come and they were talking. Actually, the drawing room was beside my bedroom. Everybody was talking and gossiping. I was reading my reading books. I was so concentrated that I could not go to the next line until the guests left our appartment. When the guests had gone, it was our dinner time. After taking the dinners, I started studying again. This is time, another guest was present. Do you now who is the guest? The sleeping guest. That means, I started feel sleepy. Wow! At last the guest had come to visit me. Ok! What should I do my audience? I just started sleeping. After getting up in the morning, I just went to the university. I hadn't done nothing. However, I mentioned before that I had tons tons of homework. Just think yourself what I did. I didn't like talk about it too much. Actually, I was in a lot of "Catch 22"s.

History of 21st February

Today is 21st February. I cannot stop myself before expressing my feelings about the day. Even though I am an immigrant of Canada, I cannot, maybe never forget my birthplace which is Bangladesh. (I will tell about that later)

21st February was the Mother-Language Day, now it is the International Mother Language Day which gets it declaration from the UN on 17th November, 1999.

Bangladesh was ruled by Pakistan before she got her independence in 1971 and she was ruled since 1945. Before that the whole Indian subcontinent was ruled by the British. However, when erstwhile Prime Minister of Pakistan declared that the Urdu would be the only state language of the whole Pakistan, the students as well as people of all stages, such as, doctors, journalists, workers, and labours protested against the statement of the prime minister. Therefore, all these people brought out a movement breaking the Curfew on 21st February. On that day, a lot of people died by the open fire of the police. But, it was not ended, the movements and protests increased uncontrollably and Pakistan government faced tremendous problems. Finally, the government declared Bengali as the second state language after seeing no way to control.

There was also strong logic: Bengali speaking people were the majority of the whole Pakistan, and West Pakistan (Present Pakistan) has several languages beside Urdu. In addition, there was also lot of partiality in many sectors, such as, political, economical, job, industrialisational, educational sectors. Most probably, people of East Pakistan became angry from those partiality, and finally, after the declaration of the state language, it became clear to everybody. Then, first anger came from Language Movement which finally directed Bangladeshi to independence.

Thus, the 21st February has become the Mother Language Day of Bangladesh. There's another story how this Mother Language Day becomes to International Mother Language Day. Before 1999, it was celebrated by only Bangladesh. Now it is celebrated by all over the world. There's another interesting thing which is: Pakistan did not want to declare Bengali as the state language; but when this proposal was told by Bangladesh in the UN meeting, Pakistan was the first country who agreed with the proposal.

Creazy Guy

A few moments, I saw a conflict which made me so angry that I will never forget. That time, I was going home in Bus No. 1. While we were going, a person with grey-colored overcoat with long hair got up in the bus and then asked the bus driver about something maybe about going to somewhere. (We, the people asked the driver about such question before getting up the bus, but the person got up and then asked). By the time, the driver started the bus and when he was asked the question, he (the driver) answered, "If you are not sure about the bus, why did you get up the bus?" (Actually, the bus driver was old, it was 6:30 pm). Then, the gentleman became rude, and said, "Ask the question again... fucker, idiot,...Ask the question again..." Finally, that gentleman broke the glasses of the driver, and damaged the phone of the bus, and then went away...

Maybe after that the police would come to investigate the bus. Maybe they could not do anything with the men. Maybe this event would finish here.

But for the occurance, people suffered a lot in a number of ways. The drivers was harrased by that fake gentleman. We, the passenger, particularly lost time as the driver would not drive until the other bus come. There might happen more than that.

Because this kind of persons do not have sense, as they have a mind which is not rude, it is possible for them to stab or shoot people. So, the general people are still helpless even though it Canada. Did you know what one should do???

Importance of Blogging for Scientist

Blogging is a thing, which i maybe a lot of people never think about it before. I never think that it can help the scientists!!! It help us to improve our language particularly writing skills. If we blog more, we can write better, we can write faster, the more faster and deeper we can think. We can do some brainstorming by doing the bloggin. However, it can help the scientists, how can it be possible? Perhaps, it is good for all of classes people.

Scientists can get help by blogging. Scientists research for different purposes. They also maintain dairy. Whenever they get something, they write in their dairy. They also brainstorm something; for which, they use dairy. They do a lot of activities, which they keep record. When they find their desired things or results, they go to the patent office to disclose their discoveries. Sometimes, it happens that scientist have discovered something before other person, but somehow, he could not patent his name with discoveries. And the scientist could not do anything to get the credit for the discovery. I heard several stories about this kind of things.

Once two scientists were working on certian purpose, maybe to discover something about telecommunication in US. They both were working in the same city. They were working for years. Finally, they discovered the machine. After discovering, one of they say to other, "Let's go to the patent office." Then, the other scientist said, "Ok! we will meet in front of the patent office togather."

Finally, one scientists (let, named Mr Y) had reached and was waiting for the other scientist (let named Mr X). After waiting for about one hour Mr X had come out from the office. Then, Mr Y said, "Hey! Where were you? I am waiting for so long." Mr X replied, "I can't recognize you. Who are you?"
- You don't know me? You can't remember, we both work togather for the research
- What the hale are you talking about? I don't have time. Go away!!
Mr Y understood something wrong. Then, instead of talking with Mr X, he went inside the office and asked the officer about the last registration of a machine. He answered that the machine has already been patented by the name of Mr X. Now, he realized that Mr X reached before him about 5 minutes. He was depressed that even though he had done work on the machine, he did not get credit for discovereing.
So, I think it is important for scientist to maintain blogging. Because it is an open dairy which everybody can read, and the patent office cannot take paper on undiscovered things, a scientist just by blogging his though do his work. Therefore, it will be secured and they don't have to go through Mr Y.

Why?

... Why am I hated by male persons? Why I am in the court? Why is my fate is so worse?...

What's going on? When I was young, I was liked by everybody except my elder brother, dad. They did not look after me very well.

When I grew up, I was studying Grade 12, parents became busy about my marriage. At first, it was funny. My parents were looking for a person that fit for me. Oneday, they found the photo of a 23-years old handsome, good-looking person. He was a mechanical engineer and lived in Canada and was doing a professional job. After hearing the news of such person, my parents could not stop themselves... Anyways, the marriage happened. My school was stopped. After my marriage, I came to Canada.

I was living with my husband in peace. He had a sense of humour. So, the time passed very well. I felt my parents, but not too much because of my husband. I went to visit a lot of place. Really, I didn't think that Canada is so beautiful country even though it is cold country. It looks different in summer and winter. But, both scenes are so nice that I cannot forget it. My time was passing very well. All of a sudden, my contented life stopped and I entered in a saddy life. But ... why?

It was the terrible accident of my husband which robbed his life from me. I became alone. But, he left a thing as a memory, which is my only daughter. So, I have a lot of responsibility. I started going school to study again. By this time, I met an international student who was studying chemical engineering in the UofC. I felt pity for him as he came from a foreign country and was paying high tuition fee. So, he proposed me to marry because if he could get the immigrantship, he would not have to face this economic problem. I also did so. I thought it would be well as my daughter liked him. Then, I agreed to marry him.

After that, I was living with him. He was studying, and I finished my schooling and started working. The first year, I paid his tuition fees. After one year, he got the immigrationship.

Then, he started beating me. Sometimes, he was drunk. He was so rude none can imagine. His face was changed... Oh! that's terrible. I can't say that anymore. I don't know why?

Finally, I came to court for solution.

I don't know why my life is like that? Why cannot I be happy? Why?

Why We are Bound to Fate

.... Jabir is late tonight from his office like the other day. He has reached at home @ 01:00 am. Therefore, his wife is very angry. She asked him, "Why is he late everyday? Why can't he give time for the family? Why are you so changed?" Jabir answer, "Last few days, there are so many patients, and they are coming from villages. I also cannot refuse anybody. It will be OK after few days. Don't worry." Then he takes his meal, and goes to sleep.
He gets up from sleep @ 08:00 am. His assistant is calling him from phone as there already a number of patients. That's why, he has to get up from sleep very early. Otherwise, he has a plan to sleep more. What can he do? Now, he has to go to the office as early as possible. His driver is ready with the car, and he is taking brekfast very fast. Then, he starts towards the office. All patients are waiting. It usually takes 10 minutes to reach to the office, but there are everywhere traffic jam in the street, so it probably take more than 30 minutes. After getting struck in traffic jam, Jabir is thinking what has happened to him, why his wife is not loving like the honeymoon stage. Finally, he comes to a dream....
On June 4, 1992 he was attending an exam of physic for passing the HSC (equivalent to Grade 12 pass). After getting the question, he was so pleased that he said, "Yahoo! I will get A+(80% or above marks) in the exam." But his dream started becoming false. Just after 1 hrs 30 min, there was severe ghasty wind. Everywhere, electricity wads gone. All rooms of the building became darker and darker. Nothing could be seen. Jabir knew everything, but he could not write anything. Finally, the whole time passed. He could not finish the exam with satisfactory. Then when the result came out, he got A-(61%-70%). After that, he tried to apply in any Engineering university. His dream to be an engineer became impossible.
Hence, he thinks there is something which is called fate, and because of this, he is now a physician in lieu of an engineer. He has no time for his family. Hooooooooof! Actually, electricity problem had changed his life, his profession. He becomes upset. Oh! he has to think again what now he can do now.....

My first Blogging

Today is the first day I am going to blog. When I first heard about blogging, I am really amazed. Then, I became curious about it. Finally, I came to know how to do it. It is really a fun. I don't know what I am going to write. Oh! I can write about the first writting experience. We are assigned to come to the TRI computer lab. Our instructors Mr Scott Douglas and Mrs Pam Kapoor helped us a lot in starting to blog. After having everyone's account, we all started blogging. Everywhere, there is the sound of typing, clicking with almost no talking. The lab is dark; the environment looks like I am writing in the computer in my home. It is a fun. A ctually, I have no restriction in my writing. I can write anything, so it is kind of like playing games. I am writing, writing, and writing. I do not know when it will end. Maybe, I don't like to be end up. Anyways, I think this class is not stress like other classes. Oh! my time is finished. I have to finish up.
